The VSS system is an acoustical electronic navigational aid that
enable the officer on watch at an «one man operated bridge» to hear environmental sound signals from other ships or fog horns that are audible outside the ship when standing inside a totally enclosed bridge space, in order to perform the look-out function as required in the International Regulations for Prevent Collisions at Sea, 1972.

Fully electronic master clock developed for marine use.
The basic unit in the system is a 19” casing of aluminium and
assembling is based on modular system. The Time Base (TB) is controlled by a microprocessor. UTC (GMT) and Local Time is shown simultaneously on a 16 characters LCD display. The display is also used during programming to give instructions. A crystal is the time base. In case of power failure a built-in lithium battery keeps programmed values up to 10 years. |
